This week, we had an beautifully eye-opening and thought-provoking interview with Rachel Monique Maskell. From reflecting on our interview together, it’s clear that her work with Story Medicine and Story Circles helps women not only reconnect to themselves and other women in our community, but also helps restore the powerful energy, balance and connection that we, as women, inherently have to our natural environment. It was such a joy to speak with her, so be sure to tune in! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

In this week’s episode, want to talk about the inevitable failures, pitfalls, missteps in life that take us off course, namely sabotaging our own healing process. It often comes up on this podcast (and in LIFE) that the first thing we sacrifice in the face of our mounting priorities and obligations - is ourselves. And when it comes to this topic, we’re coming at it from many angles. Consider any one area of life and I am sure there is a desire for improvement, so we’ll go through the legitimate reasons we find (or lame excuses we create) that get in the way of our healing and growth, and then we’ll switch gears to get AMPED UP on ways to get back - and stay - on course. As the new year approaches, many of us feel the need to shift into planning mode to prepare for the coming year. Reflecting on the past year, many women I speak with are busy doing everything BUT the things they really want to be doing. A lot of that comes from the fact that it’s easy to have our day, our week, our month and even our year get away from us, because we tend to focus on everything and everyone else’s agenda but our own. And then, the end of the year comes around, and we’re like… well, there that went… guess I’ll have to try again this year. And then, you set the same goal, share it with the same people, and ultimately have the same experience in the coming year. Listen up to learn some tips on how to make the most of 2018. We are in a time where we are uprooting old-as-time misconceptions, misrepresentations, biases, and injustices toward women and, as heavy as it is, the conversation is needed. Menopause is a transition in fertility and a natural phase, as menses was when we were teens - and yet there is such a social stigma around it. A period of a woman’s life that, in some cultures, is looked at as a right of passage, evidence of her wisdom - in much of western culture is looked at as a sort of end of femininity, the symptoms of which should be masked by medications. But we’re here to tell you this is total BS and we’re going to spend this episode diving deeper into this topic and why, when the changes at midlife occur for you, you should truly look at it as that - mid-life! There is so much more of your amazing life to be lived and so much to offer this world and your community. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

“If you’re not actively planning… or even thinking... of getting pregnant any time soon, you might think this episode isn’t for you. BUT the reality is, at the very least, you probably know someone who would love to hear this info - and you’ll be able to share it and be ‘in the know’. The thing is, over the years, we’ve been seeing higher and higher incidences of fertility issues, autism spectrum disorders, and various genetic defects.” Whether you’re planning for baby or just want to get your body in fine fettle, this week’s episode has something for you. Monday Oct 23, 2017

Monday Oct 23, 2017

With the holidays fast approaching, it can seem like time is being swept out from under us. Wasn’t it JUST 2016? Now the decorative lights are being hung, the lawn creatures are stretching their legs and the energy is shifting - things are darker, cooler, and held closer. The holidays can be an interesting time for people. I say “interesting”, because for some, they look forward to it ALL year! They can’t wait to pull out their boxes of lights, decor and yard fixtures and schedule out their favorite festive flicks, line up their holiday tunes, and color code their garments. For others… they could take it or leave it. And still for others, it can be a serious time of stress, anxiety, guilt and even shame. Join Dr. Michelle, as she talks about some strategies to help make this holiday season stress-free. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
